Vegan Bakery | Art Direction and Web Design
CupKate is a Milwaukee vegan bakery run by Kate, who makes every cupcake, cake and treat to order. There is no storefront, so the website does the work of a shop counter: showing the menu, answering questions and taking orders.
The Challenge
Kate needed a site that would promote the bakery and collect orders, with flavors, pricing and seasonal specials that change throughout the year. It had to be easy for customers to order from a phone, and it had to connect with the Instagram account where many customers first discover her.
What We Did
- Designed and built the website with pages for classic, specialty and premium cupcakes, custom cakes, other desserts and gift cards.
- Created online order forms for cupcakes and custom cakes, so customers can order any time.
- Monthly updates to the site and order forms for seasonal specials, pricing and custom cake availability.
- Instagram integration to feature her feed on the site for cross-promotion.
- Local SEO so people searching for vegan cupcakes in Milwaukee can find her.
The Results
The website is CupKate’s storefront. Over six months, her homepage drew more than 20,000 impressions in Google search, and the order and custom cake pages are among the most visited on the site, turning searches into orders.
